About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Telemetry License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac Telemetry experience - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with post MI and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients Description: The role involves caring for adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring. You will manage pre and post cardiac catheterization patients and pacemaker patients. Care will also include 24 observation patients to rule out myocardial infarction. You will be responsible for patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and renal failure. You will care for patients after they have transferred out of intensive care units. Management of patients post cerebrovascular accidents who may have received TPA is also required. Occasional care of medical or surgical overflow patients may be necessary. Ideal candidates will demonstrate effective teamwork with interdisciplinary support including various therapy services and pharmacy. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6 during day shifts. Floating within the service line may be required. Every other weekend coverage is mandatory. Schedules should accommodate a guarantee of 36 to 48 hours per week depending on contract length. Candidates must complete compliance requirements in a timely manner and preferably provide supervisory references. Imported requirements regarding licensure and certifications must be observed. All candidates are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreements in full without interruptions.
