Our client is an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services company supporting complex industrial and energy-sector projects. They work closely with utility and infrastructure clients, providing project execution, administrative oversight, and specialized management support across the full project lifecycle. Our client frequently partners with external agencies to supplement staffing needs for large-scale, time-bound projects.
Job Summary
The Site Construction Manager serves as the owner's representative, overseeing all on-site construction activities for a gas-fired power plant to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. This role coordinates with EPC contractors, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve field issues, enforce safety and compliance requirements, and provide regular project reporting throughout the construction lifecycle.
Job Description
- The OR performing the work should possess the required and documented safety training, skills, and competence, and be provided with and properly use all required PPE, in accordance with applicable laws and project safety requirements. OR will as well be responsible of ensuring proper maintenance of PPE.
- Deep knowledge of power plant systems (turbines, HRSGs, generators, HV/MV, BOP) to independently assess contractor work quality.
- Strong ability to interpret EPC documents, specs, P&IDs, SLDs, drawings, and datasheets.
- Working knowledge of key codes and standards (ASME, NEC, IEEE, OSHA, environmental).
- Experience with owner’s engineer roles, QA/QC surveillance, and third-party inspections.
- Strong leadership in multi-contractor, multi-discipline project environments with sound escalation judgment.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships across the entire project team to include Invenergy, other contractors’ personnel, and regulators.
- Strong safety leadership, ensuring contractor compliance through audits, documentation, and enforcement.
- Capable of working in and around energized or potentially energized electrical environments, including substations, collection systems, and associated facilities, in accordance with applicable safety rules and procedures.
Skills Required
- Minimum 10 years of power generation or heavy industrial construction experience, with at least 5 years in an owner's representative.
- Prior experience on EPC contractor side is highly valued, understanding how contractors operate is essential to effective oversight.
- Valid driver's license; ability to work extended hours, weekends, and rotating schedules as project demands require.
- Current OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications to be maintained current through the Services provided to Invenergy.

- High School Degree or GED
