Job Title:  Accounts Receivable & Claims Specialist

Description:  We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable & Claims Specialist to join our finance team for Culligan Retail North America. In this role, you'll be crucial in managing our customer cash receipts and ensuring accurate accounts receivable records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Cash Receipts:  Accurately post customer payments to corresponding AR invoices in Sage. This involves retrieving payment details from our bank's lockbox, various web portals, and our EDI mailbox.
• Manage Deductions & Claims:  Review, classify, and post customer deductions as debit memos in Sage, ensuring proper allocation to both AR and the general ledger. Collaborate on tracking, identifying, researching, and filing claims for chargebacks. This includes understanding customer-specific chargeback codes and required documentation, monitoring claim statuses (payback, denials, or additional information requests), and maintaining the Claims Receivable spreadsheet.
• Apply Payments:  Efficiently apply all cash receipts and debit memos against open invoices in Sage.
• Monitor Accounts Aging:  Regularly review the aging of unpaid invoices in Sage and collaborate with internal teams to identify and follow up on past-due accounts for collection.
• Process Credit Card Payments:  Handle occasional credit card payments from wholesale and municipal customers.
• EDI Support:  Support and potentially back up EDI processes, including receiving sales orders from our EDI mailbox into Sage, summarizing them for the operations team, and sending EDI picklists to our 3PL partner, Ryder. Additionally, you may assist with EDI processing of invoices and ASNs, posting shipments, and creating invoices within Sage for customers.
• Amazon Remittance Support (Potential):  Potentially assist with posting and applying cash remittances for all Amazon activity to support the Payment Specialist.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent; or equivalent years of experience
• 2-3 years of experience in AR / Collections
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel
• Ability to work independently and use initiative including researching, learning new systems, working with detailed and manual processes
• Attention to detail
• Skilled problem solver who likes making improvements to systems and processes
• Ability to communicate and work cross functionally within the business and with clients and vendors
• Ability to work effectively in changing environment
