Continuous Improvement Engineer

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team in the southwest suburbs of Chicago . This onsite role offers the chance to drive measurable impact by improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality across manufacturing operations.

As a CI Engineer, you’ll collaborate across teams to implement Lean tools such as Kaizen and Kanban, while guiding a culture of problem solving and accountability. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background and thrives on turning analysis into action.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and office operations

• Facilitate Kaizen events and close performance gaps with data-driven solutions

• Analyze processes using Lean Manufacturing and 8D methodologies

• Train and mentor employees on structured problem-solving (5-Why, 8D)

• Track KPIs and monitor performance to sustain gains

• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial, or Manufacturing discipline

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing with Lean, Kaizen, Kanban practices

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data tools (Excel, Minitab preferred)

• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional projects

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 – $95,000, based on skills and experience
