Description:

Reports to: Mechanical Foreman

Summary: The Mechanical team member is responsible for working with crew leads and foremen to install racking systems and solar modules, prepare and inventory materials for project teams.

Essential Functions:

1. Understand that safety is your responsibility and first priority.
2. Under the management of the Foreman:
3. Participate in layout, assembly and installation of various solar array components, including but not limited to racking and modules, using the Golden Row (when applicable) as the building standard for the project.
4. Work with and support mechanical activities associated with equipment installation.
5. Provide daily reports to the Foreman on progress and goals using appropriate forms and communication pathways.
6. Alert the Foreman, Safety Manager, and Human Resources of any potential personnel conflicts on site.
7. Administer the inventory, proper use, and maintenance of company issued tools.
8. Administer the receiving of material shipments to include safe unloading, checking material to Bill of Lading or Invoice, and maintaining paperwork in office.
9. Follow NES and OSHA safety regulations and provided safety training.
10. Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry standards.
11. Arrive punctually to work and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned.
12. Ensure your time is entered into Procore daily, is accurate, and sign your confirmation that the hours are correct.
13. Determine need and send in requests for additional materials and equipment. You must be specific and include pictures if possible.
14. Attend daily/weekly conference call with NES managers and be responsible for a brief review of progress/needs of site.
15. Be available for overtime or emergency response as needed.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be either on site or having a designated crew member in their place until they return. This position is performed in outside weather conditions all 12 months of the year.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position?lifts heavy objects, 50lbs or less, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.?The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The position requires the ability to?quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and will require longer hours and frequent weekend work.

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience participating in a mechanical crew for solar installation
• Demonstrated critical thinking, organization and planning, prioritization, and follow up skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft O365

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Fall protection training
• First aid certified
• OSHA 10 certification
• Proficiency Procore or similar construction management software
