Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Construction Manager to ensure successful and timely execution of a fiber and coax construction and network upgrade project throughout the state of Alaska.

You will report to VP Broadband Services / PMO

You will be based in Anchorage, Alaska.

Location

On-site – This position will be based in Anchorage, AK, with occasional travel throughout other cities in Alaska.

What you will be doing:

• Lead complex integration and deployment projects, including SOW management, swap, and upgrade initiatives.

• Execute projects against tight schedules (e.g., 40-day timelines), ensuring SOW KPI goals are met.
• Coordinate daily operations and crew activities, aligning with project schedules.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and approvals with external partners (e.g., GCI).
• Oversee outages during construction and upgrades down to the CPE level.
• Serve as QC and Safety leader, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
• Maintain oversight of inventory and materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define project activities, required resources, and effort estimations; track project status and technical issues.
• Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders to resolve project challenges.

What you should have:

• Education: Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience working for a service provider operating a fiber or hybrid fiber network
• Deep knowledge in Project Management, SOW management, and PMI standards.
• Proven ability to organize time, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong negotiation skills in both technical and commercial contexts.
• Understanding of networking systems hardware and software design is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years confirmed PM experience in telecom customer projects, and >5 years Service Delivery Manager experience.
• Engineering background in telecom (DataCom, Core, Radio, Transport network, IT, QA, etc.) is highly valued.

Travel

This position requires frequent travel of 50-75%
