Salary: $80k-125k Depending on Experience
Job Purpose:
As a Senior you will prepare complex tax filings, reviewlesscomplex returns and related working papers, engage in research tax projects,andbegin to have regular client interactions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review tax informationsubmittedby client for completeness; meet/call clients with questions.
- Possess knowledge of tax regulationstoanswer clients questions.
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, trust and S-corptax returns of various complexities.
- Prepare amended returns of any variety and complexity.
- Prepare personal tax projections.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Respond to tax notices.
- Perform tax research projects.
- Make adjusting entries and complete trial balancestoprepare a tax return.
- Maintain a good understanding ofdepreciation.
- Prepare tax accruals as may berequiredin preparing corporate tax returns.
- Work with confidential client matters while being the clients day to day point of contact and develop strong professional relationships.
- Begin toparticipateinfirmspractice development efforts through involvement with referral sources,communityand industry activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Accountingpreferred.
- Minimum of 2+years of tax experience.
- Hold current CPA license orhaspassed parts of the CPA exampreferred.
- Experience preparing individual,corporateand partnership tax returns arerequired.
- Experience preparing trusts, 990s and5500sare a plus.
- Multi-state tax experience is a plus.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, while proactivelyassistingin problem solving, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Proficiencywith UltraTaxis a plus.
- Ability todemonstratesound judgment and analyzing problems logically and comprehensively, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner.
- Ability tointerface witha variety of management levelsand clients.
