CNC Mills Machine Tender: Rockford, Illinois

Our customer in Rockford, Illinois is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting CNC Mills Machine Tenders to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a CNC Mills Machine Tender, you will support CNC Technicians and Operators with machine setups and changeovers, ensure smooth production runs, handle materials, inspect products, and keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the CNC Mills Machine Tender:

• Operate and monitor CNC machines including Mazak, INDEX, Nakamura, and Doosan.
• Load raw materials such as bar stock into equipment and bar loaders using lifts and cranes.
• Move finished parts through the production process, collaborating with other departments to meet workflow demands.
• Inspect products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Record machine performance, material usage, and production output in ERP systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.
• Flex across departments as needed to support changing production demands.
• Assist in material handling using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Perform quality checks and assist with troubleshooting during production runs.

CNC Mills Machine Tender Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or significant relevant experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (metal manufacturing preferred).
• Experience operating CNC machinery with a basic understanding of functionality.
• Able to lift 70 lbs or more.
• Proficient with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gages).
• Experience using hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and impacts.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills (a key requirement).
• Must have or obtain steel-toed boots or shoes.
• Preferred experience with CNC machines including Mazak, INDEX, Nakamura, and Doosan.

Pay for CNC Mills Machine Tender: $22.13/hour

Type: 2nd Shift, Full-time

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 3:00pm - 11:30pm, occasional overtime on weekends.
