Position Summary
We are looking for an entry-level CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for milling and/or turning operations. This role will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
- Select tooling and define machining strategies
- Generate setup sheets and documentation
- Simulate and verify toolpaths before production release
- Provide technical support to setup technicians and operators
- Continuously improve cycle times and process efficiency
- Assist with troubleshooting machining issues
- Maintain organized program files and revision control
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of CNC programming experience
- Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of G-code and machine controls
- Experience with 3-axis milling or 3 +1 (vertical mill with rotary attachment). Exposure to 5-axis machining as experience and skills develop.
- Solid understanding of tooling, work holding, and machining dynamics
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume job shop environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with process optimization and cost reduction
