CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Urbana, Illinois 61801 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Stepdown Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/29/2025 – End: 12/27/2025)
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2130-$2190
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing Contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years of recent CVICU or Stepdown nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to CVICU and stepdown patients, including post-operative CABG, vascular, and ICU-level cases
• Conduct initial assessments, develop individualized care plans, and adjust plans as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing care and clinical interventions
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Participate in hourly rounding and proactively support patients and fellow nurses
• Uphold hospital and unit-based competencies and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Engage in ongoing professional development and provide constructive feedback to team members
