REPORTS TO: Chief Media Investment Officer

MAJOR PURPOSE:

As a Director, Media Investment, you will provide investment leadership across direct buying channels including TV, Radio, OOH, Streaming channels and OTT. In this role, you will manage the media investment team to ensure a strategic approach and create synergies with our Marketing and Analytics teams to grow our clients’ businesses.

We are seeking a leader who will bring an innovative approach to planning and buying, curiosity to identify new opportunities and an ability to achieve value through strong partner negotiations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseeing development of omnichannel media strategies, collaborating closely with Marketing and Analytics teams to ensure that work is strategically aligned
• Overseeing the work of the Media Investment team, managing workflow and processes to ensure flawless media execution
• Building and fostering strong partnerships with relevant media partners, including the ability to constructively navigate negotiations and leverage cross-channel investments (i.e. linear broadcasters, CTV partners, ATV operators, etc.), as well as offering guidance on product roadmaps and agency wishlists
• Leveraging data & audience insights, as well as historical performance, to validate media investment strategies, inform tactical decisions, and exhibit ongoing willingness to optimize investments for campaign success
• A willingness to learn about and embrace media channels where you are less familiar/have less experience
• Providing thoughtful feedback to direct reports, using performance valuation and internal process improvement to develop and motivate talent
• Contributing to new business pitches by lending strategic expertise and high-level planning
• Staying up-to-date on the latest advanced video offerings in the marketplace spanning streaming and addressable TV
• Promoting a culture of shared learning and increasing visibility of media channel expertise within the agency
• Being a leader through strength and stability -- functioning as a point of escalation for clients and team members as needed

Requirements:

CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:

• 10+ years of media planning and buying experience
• Experience with local channels like local TV, local radio, and OOH is a plus
• Analytical background – comfort with data and numbers
• 6+ years of people managing experience
• Deep industry relationships with media partners
• Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of how to add incremental value and communicate that to our clients
• Strong communication and writing skills—you have an executive level presence
• Able to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunities
• Strategic thinking and able to see the bigger picture
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, communications, or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Periods sitting at a desk and monitoring computer (we have ergonomic sit stand desks).
