Corporate Banking Sponsor Finance RM, Manager
This position is for an associate business development banker focused on supporting and servicing relationships with commercial clients in the Sponsor Finance Group, a specialty team within Capital One Bank’s commercial banking division focused on providing financing, banking, and capital markets solutions to middle market private equity funds. This role supports the senior relationship managers in creating value-add pitchbooks, supporting credit approvals, analyzing financials, completing pre-screen deal memos, managing prospecting databases and assisting with data res earch, analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
Complete pre-screen deal memos including analysis of industry and company financial condition, key risks and mitigants application of pricing models and evaluations of the viability and profitability of the opportunity
Ownership of pre-screen deal memos through early read stage. Direct involvement throughout the credit approval process including working to help answer questions from credit, problem solving, note taking, and active participation in diligence and legal calls
Assist in the preparation of term sheets, often including running various pricing model scenarios and crafting a financing view
Assist in the deal closing process by owning the AML and KYC process from start to finish, as well as ensuring partner groups are coordinated to complete all closing deliverables and often helping with deliverables as needed
Responsible for keeping weekly pipeline reports and dashboards up to date with various deal metrics and managing data in Salesforce real-time to ensure accuracy for senior relationship managers and business leaders
Utilizing key company and capital structure metrics from multiple sources to create a fully comprehensive and up to date prospect universe
Identifying most actionable prospects and applicable calling strategies. Mine Salesforce.com and outside databases to keep data current, and to identify and prioritize private equity firms and their key decision-makers
Participate in business development networking activities and create client pitchbooks/marketing material to support meetings
Partner with internal stakeholders including Underwriting, Risk, Commercial Client Service and Support and Treasury Management to provide an exemplary customer experience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 4 years of experience in Commercial Banking
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in Business Administration
At least 5 years of experience in Corporate Sales, Corporate Risk, or Capital Markets
Completion of a commercial credit training program

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for MMB Specialty Relationship Mgr II New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 for MMB Specialty Relationship Mgr II
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
