About the Role:
As a Banquet Server, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during events and functions held at our prestigious venues in Schaumburg and downtown Chicago. Your primary objective is to ensure that guests receive attentive, courteous, and efficient service throughout banquets, conferences, weddings, and other special occasions. You will collaborate closely with the banquet team to set up event spaces, serve food and beverages, and maintain a clean and organized environment. This role demands a strong focus on guest satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall success and reputation of our hospitality services by creating memorable experiences for all attendees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in banquet or event settings.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays or plates weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in food safety or hospitality service.
- Experience working in a hotel or large-scale event venue.
- Knowledge of formal dining service and banquet protocols.
- Multilingual abilities to assist diverse guest populations.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and event management software.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare banquet rooms by setting tables, arranging chairs, and ensuring all service areas are clean and well-stocked.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally according to event specifications and guest needs.
- Assist guests with menu selections, dietary restrictions, and special requests to enhance their dining experience.
- Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to coordinate timing and delivery of courses during banquets.
- Clear tables and reset them efficiently between courses or events while maintaining a tidy environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and resolve any service issues to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist with post-event cleanup and inventory management to prepare for subsequent functions.
