Quality Inspector

Job Title: Quality InspectorJob Description We are looking for a dedicated Quality Inspector responsible for inspecting incoming materials, first-piece samples, in-process work, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities + Conduct dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using standardized procedures and documentation. + Use precision measuring instruments to verify product specifications. + Determine acceptance or rejection of items based on established criteria. + Maintain inspection records and document defects; collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure specification compliance. + Report quality concerns or findings to the quality management team. Essential Skills + High school diploma or GED. + 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. + Capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively with staff and management. + Proficient in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. + Able to follow detailed written or verbal instructions. + Capable of solving problems involving limited variables in standardized situations. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with inspection, blueprint reading, and gauge usage. + Must have experience in sheet metal and with gauges. Work Environment The role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching, and verbal communication. Occasionally, moving items up to 100 lbs. with appropriate equipment is required. Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment may include exposure to manufacturing conditions and requires adherence to safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Geneva, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
