Spoke & Bird is a WBE-owned, locally focused café, bakery, and sandwich deli. We build our menus around seasonal ingredients from regional farmers and vendors, and we make pretty much everything in-house. Small team, high standards, no drama.

We’re looking to add a solid human to our Pilsen & South Loop kitchens —someone who can hold their own on the line, prep with intention, and build sandwiches that make people quietly nod in approval.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Cooking, prepping, and assembling sandwiches with consistency and care

• Working both independently and as part of a tight-knit team

• Keeping a clean, organized station (this is an open kitchen—people can see you, and yes, it matters)

• Engaging with guests from time to time like a normal, pleasant person

• Supporting a menu that changes with the seasons and highlights local ingredients

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of kitchen experience

• Strong work ethic, good instincts, and a sense of teamwork

• Attention to detail (recipes, cleanliness, timing—all of it)

• Weekend availability (non-negotiable)

• AM and/or PM availability

• Someone who takes food seriously but doesn’t take themselves too seriously

Schedule & Pay

• Hourly: $21-$24, based on experience

• Full-time and part-time roles available
