Baker

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Pastry Assistant to join our growing bakery team. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining high-quality products and a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities:

Preparation

• Scaling, measuring, and preparing ingredients
• Preparing doughs, batters, fillings, creams, and other pastry components
• Shaping and prepping baked goods according to bakery standards and recipes

Production

• Baking a variety of items including cookies, pies, cakes, pastries, and other desserts
• Following recipes accurately and consistently
• Controlling oven temperatures and monitoring baking times to ensure product quality
• Assisting with daily pastry and dessert production

Station Setup & Cleaning

• Setting up and organizing workstations before production
• Maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized stations throughout shifts
• Cleaning and maintaining mixers, bowls, ovens, trays, tools, and equipment
• Assisting with end-of-day closing and kitchen cleanup

Storage & Inventory

• Properly labeling, dating, and storing ingredients and prepped items
• Monitoring ingredient stock levels and notifying management of shortages
• Following food safety, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times

Qualifications

• Proven pastry experience with a strong portfolio of baked goods and desserts
• Experience in pastry production and working in a professional kitchen environment
• Knowledge of food handling, kitchen sanitation, and safety protocols
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of baking experience required
• Availability to work day shifts, including weekends
• Ability to bend, kneel, lift, and stand for extended periods of time
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
