Position Summary
The Nutrition coordinator is responsible for managing corporate nutrition and compliance initiatives ensuring all school accounts meet federal, state, and company nutrition standards. This individual will plan menus for assigned school districts, support special dietary needs, and maintain accurate data in the enterprise menu system. The Nutrition Coordinator also provides training and serves as a subject matter expert in USDA-funded K-12 programs, contributing to strategic initiatives through the company’s Nutrition Council.
This role models and advances Quest’s mission and values by delivering compliant, nutritious, and engaging food experiences for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain compliant menus across assigned K-12 accounts in accordance with USDA, state, and local guidelines.
· Monitor and support timely submission and implementation of menus across all sites.
· Maintain and update the enterprise menu software database with accurate ingredient, allergen, and dietary information.
· Provide training and support to operators and support staff on enterprise menu systems.
· Address and document special dietary needs, including allergies, medical accommodations, and religious restrictions.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Culinary, Operations, and Marketing to ensure accuracy and appeal of menu offerings.
· Support student engagement initiatives, such as food committees and taste tests.
· Provide nutrition education to students, families, and staff as needed.
· Serve as a lead member of the Nutrition Council, contributing to strategic initiatives and promoting best practices.
· Stay current on federal and state nutrition guidelines by attending relevant trainings and conferences.
Job Requirements/Specifications
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
· Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and Licensed Dietitian status, where applicable.
· 2+ years of experience working with USDA-funded K-12 food programs (NSLP, SBP, CACFP, etc.).
· Proficiency with K-12 recipe and menu planning databases.
· Strong working knowledge of the food service industry in multi-unit environments.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must be willing to travel up to 30%
· Responsible for maintaining any required local or state certifications.
