Position Summary

A Utility Bulk Loader/Bagger is responsible for following the Plant Schedule and ensuring the packaged product meets plant order requirements. 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Utility Bulk Loader/Bagger is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Minimum Mandatory Standards and Requirements within his/her sphere of influence. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.

1. Inspects trucks and railcars and loads them following the plant instructions.
2. Fills out paperwork such as: plant orders, sample tags, lift truck inspection reports, etc.
3. Operates, monitors bagging system and keeps bag weights in spec. Bagging systems will consist of manual and supersack filling.
4. Warehouses finished product.
5. Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and safe condition using good housekeeping.
6. Helps with preventive maintenance and downtime maintenance repairs.
7. Employees must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by supervisor. This description covers the significant duties of the job but may not include occasional assignments which would be within the evaluation of this job.
8. Knowledgeable of the ISO quality system as required to ensure compliance to the ISO 9001 quality standard.
9. Follows FSMA guidelines in the daily production of product.
10. Sends samples of packaging product to Lab as required.
11. Dumps non-conforming product, restocks product, and codes bags as needed.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include the following: multiplication, addition, and percentages – all of which can be accomplished with the use of a calculator if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety policy manuals, MSHA regulations, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules/reports.
• Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements

Works in all inside and outside areas of the plant and is exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, grease, oil, crushed and ground limestone spillage and dirty conditions. Requires ability to climb stationary ladders and stairs to load bulk trucks and rail cars.

• Requires ability to occasionally climb stationary ladders and stairs up to at least 60’.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to move 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and crawl.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.
• Frequently operates forklift.
• Frequently requires clean up of limestone spillage which includes sweeping and shoveling material.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

[$22.52 - $24.78]

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
