Furnace Room Operator : Rockford , IL

Our client in Rockford, Illinois is a growing company that is committed to providing excellent service to their customers while producing a quality work. As a Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating furnaces, monitoring metal melting processes, and ensuring quality control while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the foundry industry and develop leadership skills for a future management role.

Responsibilities of the Furnace Room Operator :

• Operate and monitor furnaces to ensure they are functioning efficiently and safely.
• Adjust temperature controls and settings as needed to maintain optimal casting conditions.
• Melt metals according to specified temperatures and time schedules for production runs.
• Load raw materials such as scrap metal and alloys into the furnace for melting.
• Safely handle molten metal and transfer it into molds or containers for casting.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on furnaces and related equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with furnace operations, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized furnace room, following all safety protocols.

Furnace Room Operator Requirements and Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a foundry or furnace operation is required.
• Knowledge of furnace operation, metal melting processes, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work in a hot, physically demanding, and sometimes dirty environment.
• Strong ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous tasks.
• Precision in monitoring and adjusting furnace operations to ensure high-quality production.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities with the goal of progressing into management.

Pay for Furnace Room Operator : Starting at $17/hour.
