Kennedy King College is currently seeking a part-time faculty to teach automotive technology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Facilitate courses by delivering engaging lectures and guiding classroom discussions.

* Counsel students on academic progress, and course-related questions.

* Prepare clear, organized lectures and instructional materials.

* Grade assignments, exams, and projects promptly with constructive feedback.

* Participate in committees and activities that contribute to the college community and its goals.

* Demonstrates strong content expertise in the discipline, ensuring accurate and up-to-date instruction.

* Applies innovative pedagogy that engages students through active learning and real-world connections.

* Embraces a cooperative approach, collaborating effectively with colleagues and department members.

* Shows a deep commitment to student mentoring, providing guidance and support for academic and career success.

* Aligns with and actively supports the mission of the college, fostering equity, inclusion, and student achievement

* Employs a variety of teaching methods to meet students' varying learning needs, abilities, and interests and to optimize student outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Associate of Applied Science in Auto Technology and 3-4 years of work experience in the field.

* Teaching experience at the college level preferred.

* Excellent verbal and written skills required with the ability to communicate persuasively with tact and diplomacy.

* The ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment.

* Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college.

* Knowledge of Brightspace or similar Learning Management System preferred.

* Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.

The starting salary for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
