PRODUCT MANAGER – Sugar Reduction
Job Description:
The Product Manager will manage product the chemicals and Fine Ingredient lines by working closely with designated vendors, internal customers including sales, customer service and technical support for product application development.
Responsibilities:
Develop a familiarity and working partnership with Batory Foods vendors.
Contract negotiation with Vendors.
Attending training sessions provided by Vendor to learn and understand the functions and markets materials that are used within.
Learn and understand product characteristics, uses and functionality and the customer base purchasing to identify potential growth opportunities.
Develop understanding of uses to be able to communicate to the wider sales as first point of contact within organization.
Work closely with sales and inventory to ensure maximizing profit margins and reduced inventory age.
Gain understanding of market pricing and how it relates to distribution sales vs direct sales.
Work with sales in establishing recommended sale pricing models.
Work with vendors for additional LTL business, or ways to align synergies.
Identify additional market segments for target focus.
Identify key competitors and develop strategies for combating competition.
Support as needed sales and market strategies as directed by Batory Foods’ Senior Management.
Assist other product managers in the development and implementation of market and sales strategies in targeted product lines as ingredients complement each other.
As required and directed, work with sales managers and account managers to help maximize sales of product line(s) with direct communication, customer visits, sales meeting visits, etc.
Travel as necessary to industry specific functions, customer site visits and vendor meetings.
Participate and contribute as part of the Product Management team.
Focus on core product line while minimizing the addition of peripheral products.
Assist in the deeper penetration of existing Batory Foods accounts. Create/Foster goodwill within departments. Communicate within core team.
Judicious management of SKU development.
Participate in employee training of the product line.
Continuous personal improvement by identifying training opportunities.
Increase sales in both growth profit & volume 10-15% per year.
Increase in customer line items per sales order.
Education and formal training:
- Possesses deep knowledge and industry insight in the Sugar Reduction platform, including ingredients such as sucralose, stevia, monk fruit, allulose, and polyols.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Fluency in Chinese is preferred.
- 8-10 years Commercial Sales or Product Management experience.
- Travel 30-50% overnight.
- Strong ability to manage multiple products/SKUs at a time.
- Acts with integrity and honesty, building trust through all interactions.
- Fosters a professional, collaborative environment that encourages teamwork across internal and external stakeholders.
- Brings energy and initiative; a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong project and time management skills; able to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experienced with ERP and CRM systems, particularly D365.
- Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail and the ability to engage in technical discussions confidently.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
