Juniper is a new Modern American & Sushi restaurant opening in the heart of Highwood, led by Executive Chef Todd Stein, whose career includes leadership within Ballyhoo Hospitality, with concepts including Sophia Steak, Pomeroy, Coda di Volpe, Gemini, and more.

We're looking for energetic, dependable, and hardworking Server Assistants / Barbacks who take pride in helping the restaurant operate at a high level.

What You'll Do

While this is a combined posting, team members may primarily work as either a Server Assistant or Barback, depending on experience and business needs.

Server Assistant Responsibilities

• Reset and prepare tables quickly and accurately.
• Clear plates, glassware, and utensils throughout service.
• Run food and assist servers during service.
• Maintain clean and organized service stations.
• Polish glassware and silverware.
• Maintain a clean, polished dining room.
• Anticipate the needs of the service team and jump in wherever support is needed.

Barback Responsibilities

• Keep the bar fully stocked with beer, wine, spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and ice.
• Assist bartenders throughout service.
• Prep juices, garnishes, and bar supplies.
• Change kegs and organize beverage storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar.
• Support bar guests by clearing glassware, refilling water, and assisting bartenders throughout service.

Restaurant experience is appreciated, but not required. We're happy to train the right person with the right attitude.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Nights, weekends, and holiday availability.
• Ability to obtain an Illinois Food Handler Certification.
