House of Rental is a full-service Party, Event, Tool & Equipment Rental company in Skokie, IL. Established in 1969, we proudly serve Chicago and the northern suburbs.

We are seeking an Event Driver / Laborer to join our Tent & Event Team. This is a hands-on position that combines professional box truck driving with event installation and labor responsibilities. Delivery areas include: Skokie, Wilmette, Winnetka, Evanston, Morton Grove, Glenview, Northbrook, Chicago, Highland Park, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Park Ridge, and surrounding suburbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive House of Rental’s box trucks (non-CDL) to and from install sites

• Load and unload tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, and other event rental equipment

• Pull and stage equipment for daily deliveries

• Assist in the construction, installation, and dismantling of tents and event equipment

• Work in crews of 2–9 team members depending on job size

• Provide friendly, professional customer service at homes and businesses

• Process cash, check, and credit card payments when required

• Assist with warehouse duties including organizing, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining rental equipment to ready-to-rent standards

• Count and verify inventory before leaving and upon return

• Maintain clean, organized trucks and work areas

• Early mornings and late nights during busy season May through October

This is a physically demanding position requiring lifting, carrying, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50–70 lbs regularly.

Requirements

• Minimum Two (2) years box truck driving experience

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Ability to safely operate a box truck (non-CDL)

• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs consistently

• Must wear steel-toed boots and company uniform shirt

• Must have Saturday availability

• Strong teamwork and independent work skills

• Takes pride in a job well done

• Knowledge of construction equipment and party rental equipment is a plus
