Behavioral Health Services Registered Nurse (RN)

Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week | Gateway Regional Medical Center

Gateway Regional Medical Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Services Registered Nurse (BHS RN) to join our Behavioral Health team.

This is a meaningful opportunity for nurses who are committed to supporting patients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges in a structured, team-based inpatient environment.

We welcome experienced RNs and new graduates who are motivated to begin their nursing career in behavioral health.

In this role, you will provide safe, compassionate, and structured nursing care, including:

• Supporting patients during mental health and substance use crises
• Using therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety
• Administering medications and monitoring patient response
• Performing ongoing assessments and developing care plans
• Collaborating with providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Supporting patients and families through education and recovery planning
• Maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment

• Full-time, 36 hours/week
• 12-hour night shifts

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN required)
• Current Illinois RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• CPI certification required within 1 month of hire
• Behavioral health experience preferred
• New graduates welcome to apply
