About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Alton, Illinois, 62002!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Valid state license required at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CPI preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience preferred Patient Ratio: 1:5 on Night Shift Description: Provide care to medical surgical and telemetry patients. Work during the night shift from 19:00 to 07:30. Position requires 3 shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends. No call is required. The average daily census is 16-18 patients with a total of 24 beds. Float within the service line and scope may be required. Accepts first-time travelers. Candidates should be experienced in EKG rhythm identification and non-titrating cardiac drips. Candidates should be familiar with Epic charting, if possible. You will care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients. Patients may present with general medical, surgical, or infectious disease issues that may require telemetry monitoring for non-acute cardiac conditions. Advanced medication infusions are permitted without titration; decrease and weaning is allowed. Candidates will not manage patients with active or unstable gastrointestinal bleeding or uncontrolled ischemic chest pain with unstable vital signs. Candidates will care for patients under continuous NPPV and manage specific medications as needed. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care. You will conduct neurological assessments and care for patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attacks. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. Travelers will float within the service line as needed. All travelers must comply with facility policies and procedures.
