Job Summary

Judson University’s Department of Architecture & Interior Design invites applications for one, full-time, Assistant Professor Position in Architectural Design & Digital Design beginning on August 1st, 2026. The position will be held atJudson University’s Elgin Campus.

About the Opportunity

The Department of Architecture has opened one AssistantProfessor position to teach and advance research in the areas of Architectural Design and Digital Design. The successful candidate willcommit to teaching undergraduate and graduate architectural design studios. Additionally, the successful candidate will lead seminars focused on digital design and simulation, fabrication, or related courses.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates must possess a Master of Architecture, experience in conducting research individually and with the support of students, a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community, and experience teaching at the college level. At least one year of teaching experience conducting architectural design studios and leading digital design seminars and research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Architecture, Design, Digital Design, or Allied Disciplines.

Interest and demonstrated strengths in the areas of Digital Design, Simulation, Visualization, and Building Information Modelling. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in industry standard software, including: 1.) Rhino; 2.) Revit; 3.) Sketch-Up; 4.) AutoCAD; and 5.) 3d Max. Additionally, the successful candidate will also be able to maintain the Architecture & Interior Design Fab Lab, manage the regular maintenance of the equipment and the space, mentor student workersand manage their working hours.
