Role: Cloud Support Engineer
Location: San Jose CA
Client is seeking a UNIX Administrator with excellent technical, process and automation skills to be part of High-Performance Cloud Operations Team.
This person is responsible for daily administration of Linux and Unix servers in a business application environment including system administration tasks, software and hardware support, system configuration, and monitoring.
Must have excellent Linux/Unix administration experience and customer relation skills. Capable of working with business application administrators to troubleshoot applications and guide with standard methodologies. Must communicate clearly and able to work independently or in a team. Self-motivated with good communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Day-to-day administration of Linux servers including monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, performance monitoring, sizing, integration, upgrade implementation, diagnostics.
- Work with application administrators to fix and fine-tune applications and provide guidance on UNIX infrastructure processes.
- Maintain system documentation.
- Unix/Linux System Administration: Experience with Suse, AIX, RHEL, CentOS including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting.
- Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform for deployments and configuration management.
- Knowledge of RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, SUSE Manager for patch management.
- Networking: Strong TCP/IP, DNS, SSH skills and system connectivity troubleshooting.
- Virtual machine management experience with VmWare, OpenShift.
- Security: System security user access controls, OS hardening, patch management, compliance.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
