Job Title: Pharmacy Technician II

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with the practice of pharmacy in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and corporate policies by accurately interpreting prescription orders and entering them into the core pharmacy system. Notify physicians of any incomplete or incorrect prescription information and perform physician outreach when necessary.

• Assist the pharmacist in obtaining accurate verbal orders for product replacement and missing prescription information from healthcare providers. Manage patient adherence processes and schedule medication deliveries according to Pharmacy Solutions guidelines.

• Support patients with treatment compliance by updating current medications, allergies, and medical conditions, and triage calls to Nursing and Pharmacists when needed.

• Utilize internal and web tools to communicate with health insurance payors and providers to investigate benefits and verify prescription coverage.

• Identify and recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity in pharmacy operations and communicate ideas with supervisors.

• Professionally and efficiently interact with internal and external teams to ensure accurate provision of services to patients.

• Collaborate with necessary personnel to determine objectives and support changing business priorities by executing or overseeing tasks to support patients, products, or services. This includes handling inbound and outbound calls, work prioritization, and organizing and performing testing as required.

• Check pharmacist voicemails as applicable and undertake additional responsibilities as deemed necessary for business management.

Essential Skills

• Licensed and Certified Pharmacy Technician

• Retail Pharmacy Experience

• Proficient in Data Entry

• Call Center Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to meet Pharmacy Technician Licensure requirements by the first day of employment.

• Maintain current Illinois Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure and Continuing Education requirements.

• 3-5 years of experience within a healthcare setting, familiar with medical record handling, documentation, prescription data entry, and high-quality customer service.

• Strong attention to detail and decision-making capabilities.

• Clear and professional communication with healthcare professionals.

• Proficient in written and oral communication.

• Ability to complete tasks individually and collaboratively, with effective time management.

• Strong computer skills, particularly in data entry and Microsoft Word or Excel applications.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position requiring flexibility to work between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
