This position is responsible for ensuring all initial and subsequent billing of patient accounts are accurately processed to the appropriate payors. The Billing Specialist will apply problem solving skills in order to independently rectify all pre and post service issues in order to accurately submit claims for payment. All paper and electronic processing of primary, secondary, and tertiary claims for Graham Health System will be completed by the Billing Specialist. This position reports to the GMG Business Office Director.

High School Diploma required

1 – 2 years billing medical claims preferred

Advanced computer skills including Microsoft office products such as Excel

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology

Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations as well as Managed Care Contracts

Knowledge of manual and electronic billing
