POSITION SUMMARY
The Barista is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience through handcrafted beverages, friendly service, and consistent execution of Scooter’s Coffee standards. This role includes operating the espresso bar, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring every guest leaves happier than when they arrived.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and connect with every guest with a smile and friendly attitude.
- Take accurate orders and efficiently process transactions.
- Prepare all drinks and food items according to Scooter’s Coffee recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain speed and accuracy during peak times while ensuring quality.
- Restock ingredients, supplies, and merchandise throughout the shift.
- Keep the workstation, equipment, and guest areas clean and organized.
- Operate POS system and handle cash responsibly following company procedures.
- Proactively assist team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Demonstrate and model Scooter’s Coffee core values in every interaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Friendly, outgoing personality and a passion for people.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent performance.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Quick learner with strong attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures.
- Availability for early morning, weekend, and/or holiday shifts.
- Previous customer service or coffee experience preferred, but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates within the Meijer Algonquin store and requires standing for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 30 pounds, and frequent use of coffee and blending equipment.
