Echo Tech Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Echo Tech job)
• Location: Evanston, IL (with floating to Skokie, Swedish, Glenbrook, Highland Park in Cook County)
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: Day shifts, 8 hours (between 7:00am – 4:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends every 4th–6th weekend
• On Call: Yes, required at Evanston and Highland Park (twice during contract, includes weekends)
• Floating: Required between sister healthcare facilities in Cook County
• Daily Caseload: 7 patients per day
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2950–$3020

Echo Tech Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Echo Tech or Cardiac Sonographer (adult and pediatric proficiency required)
• Certification: ARDMS RDCS AE, BLS, CCI RCS, RCS or RDCS
• Experience performing neonatal echocardiograms and working in labor & delivery or infant special care units
• Skilled in bubble studies, contrast agents, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Experience with Philips and Siemens ultrasound equipment
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to float between multiple hospital locations as needed
• Valid Echo Tech license required at time of application
• Must pass EKG test (first day, 84% or higher)
• Reliable transportation required for travel between healthcare facilities

Echo Tech Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiograms for inpatient and outpatient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Adapt to hospital protocols and demonstrate clinical competency within 1–2 days of onboarding
• Float between assigned hospital locations based on census and staffing needs
• Participate in on-call rotation and cover weekend shifts as scheduled
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care
• Utilize Epic for charting and clinical documentation
• Maintain compliance with hospital and healthcare policies and procedures
