Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To provide instructional assistance to students in STEM courses in the Math Assistance Area of the College of DuPage.

Provide academic assistance to students in mathematics, physics, or other STEM courses, online and in person.Present review sessions or other workshops as needed.Consult with college mathematics faculty and senior academic assistants for consistency in tutoring students as needed.Maintain current and relevant knowledge in subject areas and test preparation.Develop and compile resource materials.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics or another STEM field with a minimum of 12 semester hours in subject area of support required.
• Master's degree in mathematics or another STEM field preferred.

Experience

• Experience teaching or providing academic assistance in mathematics or STEM-related fields at the high school or college level is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and excellent proficiency in spoken English required.

Working Conditions:

Hours: Up to 24 hours per week during academic terms only (approximately 40 weeks per year). Some evening or weekend hours may be required. Up-to-date skills in relevant technologies.This position is subject to a background check and education verification at the expense of the College.

Pay Grade:
$26.52 hourly
