The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Food Scientist to join our team in Downers Grove. This role will focus on the development of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) applications, including snacks, bars, and baked products, with potential involvement in powders, ready-to-drink, tablets, and capsules. You will lead strategic innovation initiatives, manage product development from concept to market, and collaborate across departments to bring high-quality nutrition products to life. The position includes managing 1–2 direct reports and may require 10–20% travel.

This is a lab-based role involving exposure to food allergens and product tasting.

The Skills you will bring to the team

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in food, beverage, or dietary supplement industry

• Proven track record in developing and launching RTE snack products

• Advanced knowledge of formulation and manufacturing equipment for beverage production

• Strong understanding of raw material stability and international regulations

• Detail-oriented and organized, with adherence to GMP lab and factory guidelines

• Effective communicator across technical and non-technical audiences

• Skilled in project management and cross-functional collaboration

• Experience with SAP preferred

• Leadership capabilities including mentoring and team development

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in IL. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The annual salary for IL based employees for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 with an annual bonus
