IT Manager
We are seeking an IT Technology Manager to work directly with senior leadership at a well-respected community health center in South Chicago. The position is exempt and this would require in-person work, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Position Summary: IT Technology Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of clinical and administrative technology, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), medical devices, and network security. Position bridges the gap between technical teams, medical staff and support team to enhance patient care, ensure HIPAA compliance, manage budgets, and handle vendor relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities: System Implementation and Maintenance: Managing the deployment and operational stability of EHR systems, telehealth platforms, telephones, imaging systems, and IT networks. IT Operations & Support: Manage daily IT operations, including server infrastructure, network security, and user support (help desk), ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
Team Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and supervise IT personnel, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Security & Compliance: Establish and enforce policies for data security, backups, and disaster recovery. Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.
Project Management: Lead major IT projects, including software implementations, hardware upgrades, and infrastructure migrations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance metrics to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, implementing improvements to increase productivity. Regulatory Compliance and Security: Ensuring all technologies adhere to HIPAA and other health regulations, including managing cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive patient data.
Infrastructure Management: Overseeing medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and IT hardware/software, including maintaining equipment schedules and tracking usage. Collaboration and Support: Working with all clinical, clinical support staff, and administrative staffs to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes through technology.
Qualifications and Years of Experience: B achelor's Degree in Computer or Information Science A minimum of 5 years or more experience in IT Other Skills Network Knowledge Strong Oral Communication Skills, Good Coaching Skills, Enthusiasm, Ability to Meet Deadlines, Technology Industry Knowledge, Extensive Software Knowledge, Problem Solving Skills. Must have the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a team player. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with diversity personalities. Must be approachable, show respect for others, and be able to present data with effective communication and presentations skills. Must be an effective consensus builder. Possesses good grasp clinical work flow in both inpatient and outpatient settings, interest in clinical information systems and outcomes measurement. Must have the ability to develop flexible, transferable models for pathways of care. A strong leader with a mature sense of priorities and solid practical experience that can design and implement systems within the framework of technical boundaries. Is politically savvy, and can work successfully in a team setting model. Is a systems thinker with strong organizational skills who can pull all the pieces together and deliver on time and within budget. Is a strong manager who is adaptable and has strong collaborative management style, a creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and an individual who promotes the concepts of people working together versus individual performance. Is a contemporary clinician who understands major trends in healthcare and managed care, and is familiar with point of care products and medical informatics trends and tools. EHR experience preferred.
