Personal Injury Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Oak Park personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced, full-time, Spanish-speaking , personal injury paralegal/legal assistant to join our team.

· Working on full range of personal injury cases (i.e., MVA, premises liability, medical malpractice, construction negligence, etc.)

· Managing 100+ personal injury files

· Communicating effectively and promptly with clients, insurance carriers, and others

· Drafting demand letters and putting together demand packages

· Propounding and answering written discovery

· Drafting complaints and issuing summons/ensuring timely service of process

· Drafting and e-filing routine motions

· Scheduling depositions, securing court reporter, preparing notices

· All things relating to all types of liens (healthcare provider liens, health insurance liens, med pay subrogation, ERISA plans, etc.), up to and including negotiating liens and preparing releases of liens

· Assisting in preparation for trial and arbitrations

· Answering phones and doing case intakes

· Inputting and updating case data in case management software and files

· Multi-tasking

· Working efficiently and in an organized manner

· Ability to learn quickly

· Attention to detail

· Good writing skills

· Knowledge of medical terms/conditions

We utilize Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook) and Adobe

A potential candidate must have prior litigation and personal injury experience.

A potential candidate read, speak, write, and be able to translate Spanish fluently.

Trial experience is a plus but not required.

Salary: $25-30/hour, depending on experience. Full benefits package available including health, dental, vision, pet, short-term disability after 90 days, as well as participation in a 401(k). Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
