Position Overview:

The Hospital Cook prepares, cooks, and serves nutritious, safe, and appealing meals to patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with hospital dietary guidelines and safety standards. The cook is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared with care, in compliance with hospital policies, and meets the dietary needs of patients based on medical or dietary restrictions.

Education Qualifications:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Qualifications:

• Required: Food Handlers certification is required within 7 days of start date
• Preferred: Serv-Safe Managers Certification or State of Illinois Public Health certification

Experience Qualifications:

• Previous cooking experience in a hospital, healthcare, or institutional setting, is preferred

Pay Range:

• The pay range for this position is $15.00 - 22.50 per hour.
