Executive Director

Seeking a mission-driven Executive Director to lead a domestic violence agency serving survivors through crisis intervention, advocacy, off-site shelter, and supportive services. This role provides strategic, fiscal, and operational leadership while ensuring compliance with state and federal funding requirements and strong community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead agency operations, strategy, and mission advancement in collaboration with the Board
• Ensure high-quality, survivor-centered, trauma-informed services
• Oversee grant compliance, reporting, and fiscal accountability for funding including IDHS, VOCA, and other state/federal sources
• Manage budgets, contracts, audits, and organizational sustainability
• Supervise staff and promote a supportive, trauma-informed workplace culture
• Serve as the agency’s primary representative with ICADV , funders, courts, law enforcement, and community partners
• Advocate for survivors and domestic violence services in a rural community context

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s and/or ICDVP preferred (Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field)
• Leadership experience (5+ years) in domestic violence, human services, or nonprofit management
• Demonstrated experience with grant management, compliance, and reporting
• Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and rural service delivery challenges
• Strong financial, supervisory, and community collaboration skills

Preferred

• Experience working with Boards of Directors
• Familiarity with Illinois domestic violence systems , IDHS requirements, and ICADV standards

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience; benefits package included.
