Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based Occupational Therapist is needed to support elementary students in Aurora, IL, providing specialized therapy services to enhance their academic and daily living skills. This contract position covers a maternity leave, with the possibility of extending for the full academic school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to elementary students needs
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities
- Delivering direct therapy sessions focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence
- Monitoring progress and maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with school policies
- Providing training and resources to educators and families to support student development
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license with experience in a school-based setting
- Knowledge of pediatric therapy techniques and educational accommodations
- Ability to work well in a collaborative educational environment
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing student needs and schedules
Location: Aurora, Illinois Elementary School setting
