Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact initiatives across Decisioning Studio’s self-serve and managed product tiers, including setup, creative, launch, reporting, and ML-connected services.
• Build full-stack product experiences spanning dashboard interfaces, data models, APIs, background jobs, and backend services.
• Lead web application architecture efforts focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and ML Engineering to translate the AI product roadmap into reliable user experiences.
• Influence product strategy and roadmap through technical insights and user-experience innovation.
• Mentor engineers, guide technical growth, and foster a high-performance culture of quality.
• Support teams implementing Braze’s AI solutions to promote customer success and effective collaboration.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience with a strong track record of delivering impact.
• Ability to work across the full stack and own product surfaces end to end, including data models, APIs, and background jobs.
• Strong frontend development skills with TypeScript and React, plus a focus on polished, intuitive, and reliable user experiences.
• Strong background designing and maintaining scalable web application architectures.
• Expertise using AI coding agents, reusable skills, and automation as part of an agentic development workflow.
• Ability to write clear design documents and technical proposals and explain complex systems to technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
• User-centric approach and commitment to elegant, maintainable code and engineering quality.
• Experience navigating large codebases, driving consensus on technical decisions, and mentoring engineers.
• Preferred experience developing user experiences for machine-learning and data-intensive applications.
• Preferred experience building product surfaces on LLMs and agentic systems, including embeddings, agent orchestration, and evaluation.
• Python and/or Ruby on Rails experience is strongly preferred.
