Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Host to join our team at Gemini in Lincoln Park.

Concept overview: Gemini is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept and a longstanding neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Lincoln Park. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and lively bar, Gemini serves an updated American menu that focuses on seasonal ingredients and approachable comfort dishes.

The dining room is anchored by a large U shaped bar that serves as the social center of the restaurant. Guests gather for craft cocktails, wine, and familiar favorites while the sidewalk patio offers a relaxed outdoor dining experience during warmer months.

Job Summary: The Host role is pivotal in creating a positive first impression for our guests. The ideal candidate will be pleasant, detail-oriented, and consistently professional, possessing strong hospitality instincts and a genuine drive to exceed guest expectations. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively, and contribute to smooth service operations and the delivery of high-quality service.

Job Requirements & Qualifications : Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Create and maintain a strong connection to the guests and community.
• Exude warmth and hospitality in all interactions.
• Drive sales and covers through acute management of reservation software
• Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and build relationships with guests while encouraging regulars.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members.
• Serve guests as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both front and back of the house.
• Ability to learn the menu and and comfortably guide the guest
• Passion to learn and participate in daily food and beverage training.
• Proficiency in Restaurant reservation systems
• Ability to maintain a clean working environment.
• Must pass general information and food and beverage quizzes.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
• Night and weekend availability is required.
