Sales Engineer (Technical Sales)
Position Overview
SCC Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer to grow and support sales of SCC Inc’s total boiler room solutions and Siemens combustion control products across the Americas. This role is ideal for a technically fluent person who enjoys working directly with people.
You will manage and grow a defined set of accounts, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full sales cycle—from early concept discussions through proposal development, order execution, and post-sale support. This role reports to the Director of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow revenue and deepen relationships within an assigned portfolio of accounts
- Lead technical sales conversations by asking strong discovery questions and listening carefully to customer needs
- Educate customers and prospects on combustion solutions
- Help customers develop compliant, competitive proposals using SCC Inc’s solutions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, managing follow-ups via phone, email, and in-person meetings
- Travel domestically approximately 20–40% of the time
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team
- Strong customer service mindset and long-term relationship focus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Sales or customer-facing experience
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical wiring diagrams
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable managing multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
- Positive, professional attitude with a high level of dependability
