Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Must have an active IL license in hand to apply. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: PICC line management and experience with starting IVs are required. Willingness to take trach and laryngectomy patients; experience not required but must be willing to learn. Must be willing to take up to a 1:7 patient ratio if needed. Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The shift is a 3x12 schedule from 06:45 to 19:15. The nurse will work every other weekend. If requested time off falls on a weekend, the nurse will be scheduled per rotation. If call-offs exceed the allowed hours, there will be billing for extra shifts canceled. The nurse will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs. Experience in Cerner is preferred. The position involves various patient care procedures. These include dressing changes, drain management, intravenous insertions, and more. Interdisciplinary support will be present in the unit. The nurse will provide care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit has a patient care focus with specific procedures requiring particular skills.
