Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemist II to join our team, responsible for executing laboratory tasks with precision and technical expertise. This role demands the ability to generate precise, reliable, and reproducible data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining safety and GxP standards.
Responsibilities

Independently execute assigned laboratory tasks using standard procedures and technical understanding.

Document experiments as per regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate strong experimental precision and data interpretation skills.

Develop protocols for complex tests or experiments with less defined assays.

Ensure safety and GxP requirements are met during tasks.

Deliver high-quality, precise data in a timely and compliant manner.

Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument-related systems.

Present findings of defined experiments to larger audiences.
Essential Skills

Proficient in the use of analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, LC/MS, and chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower, Openlab, Chromeleon).

Strong documentation skills with familiarity in GMP and GLP.

Ability to present experimental findings to larger groups with strong communication skills.

Solid in chemistry fundamentals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS/BA in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or related field with minimum 5 years lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred) or master's degree with minimum 2 years lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred).

Experience in lab research with a proven track record of presentations/publications is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role located in Lake County, requiring work from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position does not require travel and offers the opportunity to work within a structured and regulated environment, ensuring high standards of data quality and safety compliance. Dress code and proper attire are expected to maintain professionalism in the laboratory setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
