Food Regulatory Associate

$37 per hour Chicago, IL Contract Duration: 12 months contract (With possible extension) Responsibilities Assignment Level Descriptor:- Is a first line manager (Line Manager 1) but can be second LM of a team (> 4) with Technical Leadership (Technical) and some Business Operations roles
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with others
- Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager
- This is typically an Assignment with significantly more authority and responsibility at this Assignment level. It should be selected to recognize differences which are not enough to be represented by a separate Assignment level, such as increased proficiency in skills/competencies to perform responsibilities, greater impact to the business unit, customer, segment, geography, etc. May also provide guidance or leadership to other Associates.
- Delivers value and growth by driving product quality, assuring consumer safety and promoting efficiency based on robust science while developing consumer-relevant products, process and packaging.
- SRA Associates are involved in global or local activities that include: 1) assuring the regulatory compliance of products (on-pack and off-pack approval of nutrition information; ingredient declarations and claims; use of approved ingredients); product registration; packaging compliance; 2) monitoring and influencing food regulations that impact our products; 3) establishing a scientific network to achieve #2; 4) Manage scientific research program to achieve #2 for health & nutrition and sustainability; 5) Horizon scanning of science and regulations related to health & nutrition; food safety and sustainability 6) develop internal scientific and regulatory governance, standards and policies that drive compliance and support the innovation and business goals of the Company.
- Bachelors of Science (food science, biology, chemistry or related field)
- Required Experience, any deal breakers
- 1-2 years of regulatory experience
- Required Skills (include soft skills) Excel, analytical thinking, Microsoft Office, thorough and detail oriented, collaborative, solutions-oriented
- Must have and good to have.
- Food experience desired, must have Client experience in related industry (i.e. pharma, cosmetics, supplements, home products [cleaners, disinfectants, polishes etc])
