ER RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1950-$2000
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (17:45 – 06:15); every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: 22-bed Emergency Department (adult and pediatric patients)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Any solid color
• Parking: Free with permit

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA or Red Cross only); TNCC preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system
• Community hospital nursing experience required
• Experience caring for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and perform 12-lead EKGs
• Administer blood products, manage central lines, initiate IVs, and provide IV therapy
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, pediatric, psychiatric, and respiratory emergencies
• Perform triage, implement isolation precautions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner
• Float to other hospital units or affiliate healthcare facilities as needed
