Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Vascular Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, four days a week) Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Peripheral vascular work - Venous central lines - Tube changes - Neuro experience (preferred) - Embolization work (arterial/venous) - Venous thrombectomy work Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, nursing trends, and technology. The RN is responsible for managing financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Responsibilities include performing all duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. The RN completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care. The plan of care is based on patient and family needs in accordance with unit standards. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards. The RN communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. The RN confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. The RN identifies learning needs and takes initiative to find appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Department-specific functions include administering medications necessary for procedures. The RN manages care of patients during moderate sedation. The RN monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures. The RN provides documentation of procedure events. The RN understands the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
