About Imagine Englewood if: Imagine Englewood if (IEi) is a non-for-profit organization that works to empower and strengthen the Greater Englewood community by teaching local youth and their families healthy living, environmental awareness, and positive communication skills. IEi provides year-round enrichment opportunities for children 6-18 years old, including healthy cooking classes, fitness activities, science experiments, art projects, hip hop dancing, gardening, career exploration, leadership training, field trips and various cultural experiences. IEi is also a part of the We Grow Chicago collaborative and serves as the owner and operator of the Peace Campus, a resource hub for community connection, skill building and opportunity by providing immediate basic needs, services and personalized support rooted in understanding and communication.

Purpose of Position: Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Youth Program Manager (Elementary Programs) is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of programming for elementary-aged youth (ages 6-12) and their families. This role focuses specifically on early and elementary youth development and works in close collaboration with the Youth Program Manager for middle and high school programs to ensure a cohesive and aligned youth development pipeline across Imagine Englewood if. The Youth Program Manager serves as a key relationship-builder with youth, families, and community partners, while maintaining strong systems for program operations, participation tracking, and family engagement.

The Youth Program Manager will primarily be responsible for:

Program Planning & Implementation

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all elementary-aged youth programming, including after-school, summer, and enrichment activities.
  • Design and implement programming that is developmentally appropriate and aligned with IEis core focus areas: healthy living, environmental awareness, and positive communication.
  • Facilitate or oversee daily program activities, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for youth.
  • Continuously assess and refine programming based on participation, feedback, and community needs.

Youth & Family Engagement

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and families of elementary-aged youth participants.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with families to support consistent participation and engagement.
  • Connect families to resources through IEis Englewood Strong program and other community-based services.
  • Track and support family engagement across IEi programs and services.

Program Administration & Data Management

  • Manage enrollment, attendance, and participation tracking for elementary youth programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program data for internal tracking and external reporting.
  • Support data collection and reporting needs for grants, evaluations, and organizational metrics.
  • Ensure proper documentation of program activities, outcomes, and participant engagement.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners.
  • Represent IEi in community spaces in support of youth and family programming.
  • Identify and help secure resources and partnerships that enhance program offerings.

Communications & Content Support

  • Contribute to program storytelling and communications, including parent updates, newsletters, and digital content.
  • Support documentation of program highlights, youth experiences, and community impact.

Team Collaboration & Organizational Alignment

  • Collaborate closely with the Youth Program Manager for middle and high school programs to ensure alignment and continuity across youth programming.
  • Partner with program staff and leadership to support a cohesive Peace Campus experience for youth and families.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and organizational planning efforts.
  • Commit to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has:

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged youth and/or in early childhood or youth development settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort engaging with families and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, community-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including comfort with tracking data and participation.
  • A passion for working with youth and supporting their growth and development.
  • A positive attitude, strong sense of accountability, and ability to serve as a role model.
  • A deep commitment to the Englewood community and to healthy living.
  • Moderate to significant experience working in the Chicago communities we serve.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Dependable transportation for meetings, programs, and community engagement.

Schedule and Compensation:
This is a full-time exempt position. The Youth Program Manager (Elementary Programs) primary working hours will be from 11:00am7:00pm, with flexibility to support evening and weekend programs and events as needed. Salary: $50,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience, along with paid time off, staff holidays, a competitive benefits package, and a flexible, human-first work culture.
