Job Description
Position Overview: The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for driving strategic and operational leadership to the sales organization, ensuring effective execution across all territories and franchises. The NSM plays a key role in planning and directing national sales meetings and summits, managing budgets, developing staff, and overseeing sales support functions. The NSM is a valuable thought partner to the Head of Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning for national summits, meetings, and site selection; partner with meeting planners to coordinate logistics and develop agendas.
- Oversee and manage the national sales budget, including strategic investment decisions and expense tracking.
- Curate and lead all staff meetings, including agenda development, content creation, and selection of speakers.
- Prepare year-end (YE) and talent calibration files to support organizational talent initiatives.
- Guide territory mapping, lead sales expansion activities, and oversee project implementation with District Managers (DM) and Regional Directors (RD).
- Analyze and address sales operations needs for the Gastro field force, coordinating closely with in-house and field management to improve business understanding and strategic execution.
- Gather, organize, and communicate monthly Q&I (Quotas & Incentives) reports; collaborate with the Incentives/Compensation (IC) team.
- Coordinate the franchise sales training program, analyze and develop training opportunities, and partner with Sales Training, Marketing, and Sales Managers to implement initiatives that enhance field force effectiveness.
- Work with marketing and training teams to ensure sales training is integrated with current marketing strategies for optimal field execution.
- Identify and implement tactical and strategic sales opportunities, creating tools and programs to optimize account execution and reduce administrative burden.
- Develop and deliver sales leadership presentations for Quarterly updates, National/Regional meetings, and internal senior leadership reviews.
- Implement and maintain the franchise sales force communication plan, compiling feedback from sales leadership, marketing, and analytics teams for effective field communication cadence.
- Coordinate and manage sales support functions, including sales analytics, diagnostics, monthly Q&I reports, strategic selling, and field communications.
- Lead and manage the development and implementation of sales force incentive programs, including ongoing and ad hoc incentives; facilitate collaboration across Sales Management, Marketing, Sales Reporting, Commercial Analytics, and Incentives teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with NSM peers, Sales Management, Marketing, Training, and other sales support organizations to create, improve, and optimize all field initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
- Proven leadership experience, managing large sales teams and supporting functions.
- Proficiency in sales operations, analytics, territory management, and meeting planning.
- Strong stakeholder management, project leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
This role requires a proactive leader with exceptional strategic vision, operational discipline, analytical abilities, and collaborative spirit to drive national sales excellence.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
