Position Summary
The Access to Capital Coach will serve as a contracted coach within the Credit to Capital (C2C) department. This role will provide individualized coaching to help entrepreneurs both Spanish-language and English-language clients achieve sustainable business growth through accessing capital. Coaching will include helping entrepreneurs better understand their financial needs, strengthen their operational procedures, and achieve their business financial goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Coaching
- Provide 3060-minute access to capital coaching sessions with assigned CBA graduates and other referred entrepreneurs, delivered in person, by phone, or through an online platform.
- Deliver coaching services to both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking clients, adapting communication and resources as needed.
- Assist clients in developing strategies and tactics to access capital and grow or launch their businesses.
- Guide clients within a specified timeframe to achieve identified financial and operational goals.
- Connect clients to partner organizations, lenders, and resources that facilitate access to capital.
- Submit coaching forms, documentation, and case notes within the required time frame.
- Participate in discussions related to individual and group coaching outcomes.
Workshop Development
- Develop and lead workshops on access to capital for both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking Sunshine Enterprises (SE) clients.
- Adapt workshop content to meet the linguistic, cultural, and financial literacy needs of diverse client groups.
- Participate in twice-monthly C2C team meetings to share client insights and collaborate on program improvements.
- Support the development and delivery of workshops training other Access to Capital Coaches through The Advisor Academy.

- Commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of entrepreneurs across diverse communities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish.
- High emotional intelligence and demonstrated cross-cultural competency.
- Deep knowledge of the different communities and neighborhoods of Chicago.
Minimum Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a small business owner or coach supporting small businesses.
- Coaching certification is a plus, but not required.
- Strong coaching skills and experience preparing entrepreneurs for access to capital.
- Familiarity with financial analysis, reporting, and small business operations.
- Knowledge of financial resources and lending institutions available to small businesses in Chicago.
- Demonstrated strength in core business competencies such as marketing, business planning, food industry, product development, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Experience using LivePlan or similar financial projection tools is a plus.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
