FLOOR MANAGER (Part-Time / Full-Time)

At Mariscos San Pedro, we're passionate about celebrating the flavors, hospitality, and culture of Mexico while creating unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. We are seeking a service-driven hospitality leader to join our leadership team and help support the continued growth and success of our restaurant.

As a Floor Manager , you will work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to oversee daily operations, lead exceptional service, develop team members, and ensure every guest leaves with an outstanding experience. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives on the floor, enjoys coaching others, and takes pride in creating an organized, energetic, and hospitality-focused environment.

This is a leadership position averaging 25-40 hours per week . Candidates must have flexibility to work brunch, nights and weekends. Specifically on Friday - Monday as these are core business needs. Shifts are typically 8-10 hours and require a visible, active presence throughout service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts and oversee service from opening through close.
  • Perform opening and closing manager duties, including keyholder responsibilities, cash handling, security procedures, and facility checks.
  • Maintain and continuously improve food quality, hospitality, and service standards.
  • Monitor labor deployment throughout service and make real-time staffing adjustments based on business levels.
  • Maintain dining room appearance, cleanliness, organization, and service flow while ensuring all hospitality standards are consistently executed.
  • Support the execution of beverage, food, and service standards through active floor leadership and coaching.
  • Monitor daily performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with implementing operational procedures that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly, professionally, and with genuine hospitality.
  • Assist with private events, restaurant activations, and community initiatives that strengthen the Mariscos San Pedro brand.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house team members to consistently exceed guest expectations.
  • Serve as a visible and active leader on the floor by leading through example during every shift.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities, menu updates, PPX guests, reservations, and anything else the team needs to know to set everyone up for a successful and enjoyable service.
  • Coach team members in real time through observation, recognition, and constructive feedback.
  • Reinforce company policies, side work completion, attendance expectations, and service standards.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Support performance coaching and documentation when appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen leadership to promote strong communication and teamwork between front- and back-of-house teams.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Assist with staff scheduling, labor management, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Complete manager logs, shift notes, and operational follow-up to ensure continuity between leadership teams.
  • Assist with daily cash reconciliation, deposits, and end-of-day reporting.
  • Assist with maintaining operational systems, including Toast POS, 7shifts, Paylocity, and Google Workspace as needed.

Security & Keyholder Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted keyholder responsible for opening and securing the restaurant.
  • Follow all opening and closing security procedures, including alarms, cash security, and building access.
  • Protect company assets while maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Respond calmly, confidently, and professionally during emergencies or unexpected operational challenges.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding keys, alarm codes, and operational security procedures.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and team members through consistent monitoring and adherence to company standards.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving operational, safety, and training procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant management or hospitality leadership experience required.
  • Passion for hospitality, guest service, and team development.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing to broader team goals.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistency, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work 25-40 hours per week , including evenings, weekends, holidays, and the front half of the week (Sunday through Tuesday).
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts while remaining active, engaged, and visible throughout service.
  • Comfortable serving as a keyholder with opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead from the floor while balancing guest service, team leadership, and operational execution.
  • Passion for and knowledge of Mexican cuisine and culture is highly valued.
  • Prior experience with Toast POS, including both front-end and back-end functionality, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with 7shifts scheduling software and Paylocity payroll systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
